TruXedo FAQ
Are TruXedo covers good?
Yes. TruXedo has built tonneau covers in Yankton, South Dakota since the late 1990s and sits firmly in the value-to-mid tier. The TruXport is one of the most popular entry-level soft roll-ups on the market, the Pro X15 has one of the quietest highway rides in the category, and the Sentry CT is a premium hard roll-up rated for 400 lbs. Most TruXedo soft covers ship with a limited lifetime warranty.
What is the difference between TruXedo Lo Pro and Pro X15?
Both are low-profile soft roll-ups. The Lo Pro uses inboard-mounted rails to seat the cover roughly 3/4 inch above the bed with a tear-resistant vinyl top. The Pro X15 uses 15-degree X15 side rails that sit the cover about 33% lower than the Lo Pro, with a 5-layer RTxTECHWEAVE composite that pulls tighter and runs quieter at highway speed. Pro X15 is the upgrade; Lo Pro is the value pick.
What is the difference between TruXedo Sentry and Sentry CT?
Both are hard roll-up covers with interlocking aluminum slats. The Sentry uses vinyl over the slats with self-leveling rails and slam latches plus center security latches. The Sentry CT uses a tight-weave canvas top, X15 inboard rails for a lower stance, patented level-2 locks, and a 400 lb load rating. Sentry CT is the premium tier; the standard Sentry is the value pick in the hard roll-up category.
Which TruXedo cover is best for racks or carriers?
The TruXedo Pro X15 TS. It is the same Pro X15 soft roll-up with integrated T-Slot channels running the length of the cover, compatible with crossbars, bike mounts, kayak carriers, cargo boxes, and rooftop tent mounts. You keep the soft-cover ride and styling while running gear on top.
Are TruXedo covers waterproof?
Water-resistant rather than fully waterproof — the same answer applies to every soft or hard roll-up on the market. TruXedo covers use hook-and-loop rail seals plus front and rear gaskets to block rain, dust, and road spray. For daily driving, rain, and car washes, cargo stays dry.
How do you install a TruXedo cover?
Every TruXedo uses a no-drill clamp-on mounting system. Rails clamp directly to the bed rails, the cover sets into the rails, and tension self-adjusts. Most trucks take under 30 minutes for one person with basic hand tools. No drilling, no cutting, no permanent modifications.
How long is the TruXedo warranty?
Coverage depends on the model. Most TruXedo soft roll-ups (TruXport, Lo Pro, Pro X15, Pro X15 TS, Deuce) carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. The Sentry hard roll-up carries coverage on hard parts and fabric, and the Sentry CT carries longer coverage on hard parts and fabric. Proof of purchase is required for warranty service.
Will a TruXedo fit my truck?
TruXedo covers are sized for each truck make, model, year, and bed length — they are not universal. The wrong size will not seal. Run your truck through the fitment tool or message us before you order. Fitment is verified before every TruXedo ships.
