UnderCover FAQ
Who makes UnderCover tonneau covers?
UnderCover is a tonneau cover brand owned by RealTruck, the parent company that acquired UnderCover along with several other aftermarket truck accessory brands. UnderCover designs and manufactures hard one-piece, painted, and folding aluminum bed covers for full-size and mid-size pickups. The current lineup includes the SE, LUX, Elite, Elite LX, Select, Flex, Armor Flex, and Ultra Flex.
How do you install an UnderCover bed cover?
All UnderCover bed covers clamp to the bed rails with no drilling required. Installation typically takes 20 to 30 minutes per the included instructions. The cover ships with rail clamps, a drainage tube kit, and step-by-step printed instructions specific to your truck's bed length. UnderCover also publishes model-specific install videos on YouTube. Most owners install at home without professional help.
What does an UnderCover bed cover cost?
UnderCover bed covers range from $849 on the entry-level Select hard folding cover to about $1,899 on the painted Elite LX. The folding aluminum models — Flex, Armor Flex, and Ultra Flex — sit in the $1,000 to $1,200 range. Painted-to-match models cost more because UnderCover paints them to your factory color code before shipping.
Will an UnderCover cover fit my truck?
Most full-size and mid-size pickups built in the last 15 years have at least one compatible UnderCover model. The catalog covers Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, Ranger, and Maverick; Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2500, 3500, and Colorado; GMC Sierra and Canyon; RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500; Toyota Tacoma and Tundra; Nissan Frontier and Titan; Honda Ridgeline; and Jeep Gladiator. Confirm exact fitment by sharing your year, model, and bed length with our team before ordering.
Are UnderCover bed covers waterproof?
UnderCover bed covers are weather-sealed, not fully waterproof. Every model uses an EPDM rubber perimeter gasket and a built-in drainage system that channels rain and snow out of the bed under normal driving conditions. Pressure-washing the bed with the cover closed can force water past the seal. No tonneau cover on the market is rated for full submersion.
What's the difference between the Flex and the Armor Flex?
Both are folding aluminum tri-fold covers from UnderCover. The Flex uses aluminum panels with a vinyl skin on top, weighs less, and costs around $1,000. The Armor Flex uses full aluminum honeycomb construction with no skin, weighs more, costs around $1,150, and handles heavier loads. The Armor Flex is the recommended choice for buyers who carry tools or gear in the bed regularly.
How long does an UnderCover bed cover last?
An UnderCover bed cover typically lasts 5 to 10 years in normal use, longer for the aluminum-bodied folding models (Armor Flex, Ultra Flex). Painted finishes on the Elite LX hold up well with routine washing — avoid power-washing directly at the seams. Every model ships with the original manufacturer warranty intact — check the product page for specific terms by model.
