Find My Cover

Which Tonneau cover
fits me best?

7 questions. About a minute. The cover that fits your truck AND your lifestyle.

01Your truck
02Your needs
03Your match
Fitment guaranteed. Reach out to a representative and we'll verify fitment for your truck before you order.
Question 1 of 7

What's parked in your driveway?

Pick the closest. We'll get more specific in a sec.

Question 2 of 7

What's actually going in the bed?

Be honest. "I might haul lumber someday" doesn't count.

Question 3 of 7

Do you already know what type of cover you want?

A lot of folks land here knowing exactly what they're after. If that's you, pick. If not, hit "Not sure" and we'll figure it out together.

Question 3a · Retractable type

Cool. Manual or powered?

Basically the "do I trust electronics in my truck bed" question.

Question 4 of 7

What matters most? (Pick up to 2)

We'll rank covers around what YOU care about, not whatever we're trying to push this month.

Pick up to 2 · 0 selected
Question 5 of 7

Let's nail down your truck.

This is the part that decides whether the cover even fits. No vibes-based fitment.

Question 6 of 7

Anything weird about your bed? (Pick all that apply)

This is where weird OEM features either work in our favor or torpedo a cover that would've been perfect.

Last step

Where do we send your match?

We'll send your match by email. Drop your phone too and we'll unlock a discount on your cover that manufacturer rules won't let us post online — the call/text price beats the website price more often than not.

Optional, but this is how you get the off-website price.

What the Truck Bed Barn quiz does

It asks 7 short questions about your truck and how you actually use the bed, then runs your answers against our in-stock catalog and returns the cover that fits your build and your use case. The recommendation is a real product, with the right bed length and OEM-feature compatibility, not a generic top-10 list.

If your build is unusual enough that the engine isn't fully confident — odd combination of 5th-wheel hitch, factory bed accessories, or a niche trim — the result page flags "verify before ordering" and routes you to our text line. That's the fitment guarantee in action.

Why a quiz beats reading reviews and guessing

The truck bed cover category has a math problem most buyers don't see until the wrong cover shows up at the door:

  1. Variant explosion. A single cover family — say the BAKFlip MX4 — has 80+ truck-specific SKUs. Each one fits one year range + make + model + bed length combo. Reviews on YouTube tell you the MX4 is great. They don't tell you which one of the 80 SKUs fits a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 6'6" bed.
  2. OEM gotchas. RamBox, Multi-Pro tailgate, BoxLink, factory deck rail systems, 5th-wheel hitches — each one quietly eliminates covers that physically can't work. None of this shows up in a top-10 list.
  3. Use-case mismatch. Plenty of buyers pick a soft roll-up because it's the cheapest, then realize they actually needed a toolbox-edition or a T-slot for a bed rack. The cover gets returned and they pay round-trip shipping.

The quiz catches all three before you hit checkout.

What the quiz asks (and why)

Each question feeds the recommendation engine. Skipping or fudging any of them lowers the accuracy of your match.

  1. What's parked in your driveway? Half-ton, heavy-duty, mid-size, compact. Sets the baseline.
  2. What's going in the bed? Daily life, work tools, lumber, dirt bikes, camping gear, mostly empty. Drives the use-case ranking.
  3. Do you know what type of cover you want? Hard fold, retractable, soft roll, painted, etc. — or "not sure" if you want the engine to choose.
  4. What matters most? Security, weather sealing, fast access, low profile, budget, easy install. Pick up to two.
  5. Year, make, model, bed length. Locks fitment.
  6. Anything weird about your bed? 5th-wheel hitch, RamBox, Multi-Pro tailgate, factory deck rails — anything that filters out covers that won't physically work.
  7. Where do we send your match? Email is required. Phone is optional, and the off-website discount is real.

Tonneau Cover Quiz FAQ

How long does the quiz take?
About a minute. Seven questions, mostly tap-to-answer with one dropdown for year/make/model/bed. If you already know your truck specs and your priorities, you can finish in under 45 seconds.
Is the cover the quiz recommends guaranteed to fit?
If the quiz gives you a single confident recommendation, yes — that's covered by our fitment guarantee. If it doesn't fit your truck, we cover the return shipping and exchange. If your build is unusual enough that the engine isn't fully confident, the result page shows a "verify before ordering" banner and asks you to text us first. Taking that 60 seconds saves the round-trip shipping if anything is off.
Why does it ask for my phone number?
Two reasons. First, the discount: manufacturer MAP rules prevent us from publishing prices below a certain floor online, but those rules don't apply to a text or call. The phone unlocks the off-website price, which is almost always better than the listed one. Second, if your truck has an unusual build, a 60-second text exchange is the fastest way to confirm fitment before you order. The phone field is optional — you'll still get your match via email if you skip it.
What if I'm not sure about my truck's OEM features?
Pick "Not sure" on question 6. The engine will still produce a recommendation, but the results page will flag it as needing fitment verification before ordering. If your truck has a 5th-wheel hitch, Multi-Pro tailgate, RamBox, or other factory bed accessories that affect cover fitment, our team can confirm in a quick text.
Can I take the quiz again with different answers?
Yes — there's a "Restart quiz" button at the top of every screen. Your recommendation is computed entirely from your answers, so changing any input gives you a new result. Trying a few combinations is a useful way to compare options if you're still deciding what matters most.
What if my truck or build isn't covered by the quiz?
The dropdown covers Ford, Chevy, GMC, Ram, Toyota, Nissan, Jeep, Honda, and Hyundai trucks from 2004 onward — which is the majority of trucks on the road. If you have an older truck, a heavy-duty configuration, or an aftermarket modification that affects fitment, skip the truck picker and we'll route you to our fitment team to confirm options manually.
Will I be added to a marketing list?
Your email goes into our email list so we can send your match and follow up if you have questions. We don't sell or share contact info, and you can unsubscribe from any email in one click. We send at most a few messages per week, mostly product-launch and rebate news from BAK / Retrax / Extang.
What happens after I submit the quiz?
You see your match immediately on the results page — hero recommendation plus two alternates if there's more than one good option for your truck. Each card links to the actual product on truckbedbarn.com so you can buy it directly. If you shared your phone, you can also text us for the off-website price or fitment confirmation before checkout.
How accurate is the fitment matching?
The engine validates your truck against the same fitment database the manufacturers publish (year, make, model, bed length), then filters out any cover that can't physically work with your OEM features. When the engine has a confident match, accuracy is near 100% — backed by the fitment guarantee. When it isn't confident, the results page tells you so directly instead of guessing.
