Hoop steps, a dropped step without the full board

A hoop step runs a straight bar along the rocker with a hoop dropped down at each door position. That drop puts the stepping surface lower than the bar itself, so you get an easier climb into a lifted truck without hanging a full width board off the side.

It is the middle ground in the side step range. A running board covers the whole cab length, a nerf bar keeps a single tube height, and a hoop step gives you a defined step exactly where each door opens while leaving the rest of the rocker clear.

Are hoop steps strong enough to protect the rocker?
That is not their job. The Dominator Xtreme D2 is built on Go Rhino's Dominator platform and is a solid steel step, but if you want the bar to take the weight of the truck against a rock or curb, buy a rock slider instead. Those are built and mounted for impact.
Do hoop steps need drilling?
No on listed applications. The kit ships with vehicle specific brackets that bolt to existing holes. Tell us your truck and we will confirm the part number first.
